ADHD has often been understood in our society as a childhood disorder that people grow out of. However, we are now more aware of the ways in which ADHD continues to impact many adults throughout their lifetimes. Additionally, many people are diagnosed with ADHD for the first time as adults. I specialize in helping adults understand and cope with both the emotional and practical aspects of living with ADHD.

ADHD Counseling

Living with ADHD often brings with it feelings of guilt and shame as ADHD makes it harder to balance life responsibilities and achieve life goals. Particularly if you were diagnosed as an adult, you may have spent years feeling frustrated or like you weren’t living up to your full potential. Counseling can help you deal with the emotional fallout of living with ADHD and restore your self-esteem. Counseling is also a good place to explore how ADHD impacts your relationships.

ADHD Coaching

While counseling helps you to explore and heal the emotional fallout of living with ADHD, coaching helps you with the practical, day-to-day aspects of living with ADHD. In coaching we set and maintain short-term goals from week-to-week and use problem-solving strategies to help you be more productive and reach your life goals while living with ADHD.

Is counseling, coaching, or a combination of both right for you? For many of my clients, we begin by first dealing with the emotional fallout of living with ADHD and later move on to the more practical aspects of achieving your goals. I offer flexible sessions that combine both therapy and coaching, tailored to your unique needs on any given day.

Medication: In addition to therapy and coaching, medication can be an integral part of treating your ADHD. If you would like to try ADHD medication, I can provide you with referrals to psychiatrists who specialize in ADHD treatment.

Testing: I can also provide referrals for ADHD assessment with a licensed psychologist who specializes in Adult ADHD and executive functioning.
